Event 1 – Frame Carry (on concrete)
Equipment Specifications:
Women’s Frame:
- Handles from floor 53cm
- Handles distance apart 50cm
Men’s Frame:
- Handles from floor 55cm
- Handles distance apart 55cm
Event Rules:
- Distance 30m (15m out and 15m back)
- Time limit 60 seconds
- Two Different Weighted Frames
- Competitors will have to choose prior to the event whether they are going with the heavy or light implement.
- To score the competitors will need to move the frame a distance greater than its own length.
- Any distance greater than its own length on the heavier frame, will outscore the completed distance with the lighter frame.
- Multiple drops allowed
- NO Dragging. The implement must be lifted and not dragged. If the referee deems you to be dragging, you will receive one warning, and then if the athlete continues to drag, they will be stopped and the distance recorded will be taken back to wear the judge deemed the first dragging to have happened.
Assistance Materials Permitted – Knee Sleeves and Knee Wraps
Not Permitted – Wrist Straps or Tacky
Event 2 – Log Press for Reps (on concrete)
Equipment Specifications:
- Woman’s Under 63.5 kg and Masters Women – 8 inch log.
- Woman’s Under 82kg and Over 82kg and Men’s Under 80’s, Under 90’s, Under 105’s and Masters Men – 10 inch log
- Men’s Over 105kg – 10 inch log for lighter weight option and 12 inch log for heavier weight
Event Rules:
- Time Limit 60 seconds
- Competitor will attempt to clean and press their individual implement as many times as possible in the time limit.
- The timer will begin on the command of “3-2-1-go”.
- The timer will stop when the time has elapsed or the competitor has retired from the event.
- A “good lift” requires that the participants arm(s) be straightened overhead with elbows locked (unless an injury prevents the elbows locking – to be confirmed with official prior to event starting). The legs need to be parallel on lock out.
- The competitor cannot lower the implement down until the referee has called “good lift”. If he/she lowers the implement before “good lift” command, that rep should not be counted. After lowering the implement, the competitor must touch the ground between each repetition before cleaning and pressing the implement overhead. The referee should give a warning the first time the competitor doesn’t complete a successful lift.
- If they do not complete a lift after the warning is given the referee should call “NO LIFT”. When the referee calls “NO LIFT”, the command means the last repetition did not successfully score.
- Athletes dropping the log will be disqualified from that event.
- NO Resting of the Log on the Head
Assistance Materials Permitted – Belt, knee sleeves, wrist wraps, knee wraps, Single/Double-ply elbow sleeves,
Not Permitted – Wrist straps, Tacky, Equipped powerlifting equipment
Event 3 – Max Axle Deadlift (on hard surface)
Equipment Specifications:
All Ladies and Men Under 80kg and Under 90kg – Car Tyre Axle – from 11.5 inches
Men’s Under 105kg, Over 105kg, Masters – Cartwheel Axle – from 16 inches
Event Rules:
- This is a rising bar event.
- The bar starts at a set weight for each division. All competitors must lift that weight, if they do not make a successful lift then they go out of the competition on the previous successful lift.
- Note if the first weight is not successfully lifted the competitor will score zero points for that event.
- The bar will increase in 20kg increments. (HOWEVER, once half the weight division have exited from the event the weight will be increased in 10kg increments)
- On the referee’s command the competitor will take his position over the bar.
- There will be three distinct calls that competitors must listen to in order to successfully score in this event.
- When the referee calls “LIFT”, this is the command that the competitor must wait for before he can lift the bar from the ground.
- When the referee calls “GOOD LIFT”, this is command that competitor can now lower the weight and move away from the bar.
- The competitor must wait for the “Good lift” call before he/she lowers weight for that repetition to count.
- The referee should give a warning the first time the competitor doesn’t complete a successful lift in accordance with the rules.
- If they do not complete a lift after the warning is given the referee should call “NO LIFT”.
- When the referee calls “NO LIFT”, the command means the last repetition did not successfully score.
- The athlete has 1 minute from attaching the wrist straps to complete a GOOD LIFT. If time is left the competitor may reattempt the lift subject to the time limit.
SUMO STYLE LIFTING IS NOT ALLOWED.

Event 4 – Conan’s Wheel
Key Points:
- You can walk either clockwise or anticlockwise.
- You have 60 seconds, to go around as many times as possible.
- Once the weight has been dropped and touches the ground the competitor finishes their go, and the distance is measured.
- The bar must not be resting on a belt, and should be held like a zercher carry.
DAY TWO
Event 5 – Super-Yoke (on concrete)
Event Rules:
- Distance 30m (15m out and 15m back)
- Time limit 60 seconds
- Two Different Weighted Yokes
- Competitors will have to choose prior to the event whether they are going with the heavy or light implement.
- To score the competitors will need to move the Yoke a distance greater than its own length.
- Any distance greater than its own length on the heavier yoke, will outscore the completed distance with the lighter yoke.
- Being a timed event, the competitor will take his/her position under the yoke, which will be positioned so the front end is behind the start line. The referee will wait for a clear indication from the competitor(s) that they are ready before starting the event. After the competitors are ready the referee will call commands “3-2-1-GO”. The timer will start on “GO”.
- The timer will stop when the competitor crosses the line with the front of the implement.
- Alternatively, if a competitor does not make the distance, the distance they did cover will be measured and recorded. The measurement is taken from the start line to the back of the Yoke.

Event 6 – Strongman Power Put
9kg Shot – Men
5kg Shot – Women
Event Rules:
- 1 – Keep shot close to neck, under jaw or front of the ear
- 2 The shot must touch or be close to the neck, under the jaw or front of the ear at beginning of the throw
- 3 The shot cannot be dropped down or pulled back from the starting position – it must be pushed forwards
- 4 The hand cannot be dropped below the neck/chin position during the throw
- 5 Each athlete has three throws
- 6 The athlete can touch the inside of the front Trig or Stop board (not the top of it)
- 7 Athletes can enter the throwing area from any direction, but they must leave from the rear half
- 8 Measurement is from the centre of the Trig or stop board to the nearest mark made by the shot . All throws will be measured.
- 9 The Put will be returned by the next athlete to throw, so all throwing athletes will wait there turn back from the Shot landing area.
- 10 Chalk, wrist straps & elbow support ok, NO TACKY!
- 11 Two feet must remain inside the throwing area during the throw
A foul occurs when:
* Shot is held away from the neck at beginning of the throw
* The hand is dropped or pulled back before the forward push
* If the shot lands outside of the sector (the point of impact of the shot must be completely within the inner edge of the sector lines
* If the competitor walks out the front half of the throwing area
* If the competitor walks out of the throwing area before the shot has landed
* Officials decision is final
Event 7 – Atlas Stone Circle
5 Atlas Stones, placed in front of 5 Barrels in a circle
BARRELS (1.25 metres high MEN) (1.1 metres high WOMEN)
Event Rules:
- Atlas Stones are to be lifted in order of weight from lightest to heaviest in a 60 second time limit.
- Each stone lifted will have the time recorded for it.
- NO TACKY/STICKY SUBSTANCES are allowed for this event as it is on grass.
- Any armguards should be washed prior to competition to remove any tacky. If tacky is still present you will be asked to either tape over them or remove them.
Please note: chalk is allowed.
