WSF, Strongman Federation of Ukraine and Professional League of Strongman of Ukraine presents:
The most expected event in the world of power extreme took place in Kiev, Ukraine on December 16 – there was determined the world champion in the 110 kg weight category and the strongest people of Ukraine in three weight categories – 95 kg, 110 kg and 110+.
13 sportsmen from 12 countries, including the representatives of Ukraine – Sergii Konushok and Volodymyr Reksha took part in the CityCommerceBank – World Championship (by WSF version.)
The athletes competed in seven exercises, namely :
- Relay race: «Tyre Flip» (6 times tumbling of the 360 – kilogram tyre 6 reps)+ «Carrying of the bags» (2 bags weighing 100 kg should be carried over for 10m distance).
- Log–lift (lifting of the block for the maximal weight).
- Farmer’s walk (two 130-kilogram bags should be carried for 60m distance as fast as possible ).
- Crucifix (holding down the 12 kg weights in the stretched aside arms for the maximal possible time).
- Super Yoke ( carrying over the 360 kg weight for the 20m distance).
- Dead–lift (300 kg athlete barbell rowing for 60 sec.).
- Dumbell (maximum number of lifting of the 90-kilogram barbell in one hand for 90 sec.).
Following the results of the seven exercises, Sergii Konushok won the title of the world champion in an uncompromising struggle. By the way, Sergii has already felt the taste of the similar victory, as he has won the same title in 2009, however, in the weight class of under 105 kg. His countryman Volodymyr Reksha was the third, allowing Marchin Sendwichki (Poland) to take the second place.
And for the fourth time the strongest man of Ukraine in the >110kg weight category was Olexander Lashyn from Mariupil. We would like to note that the destiny of the title was determined in the last of the sixth exercises, as all this time he was seriously competing with Vitaliy Miheev for the first place. Finally, Vitaliy took the second place and Borys Kurbatskiy from Makiivka – the third.
Besides, there was also the competition in the championship of Ukraine in the 95 and 110 kg weight categories. The first was won by the Myhailo Gambashidse from Lviv. And the second was won by Vitaliy Gerasymov from Dnipropetrovsk, who has won earlier the title of the world champion in the under 105 kg category.
